Students participating in this competition are required to produce a predominately metal construction sculpture containing some sheet metal. The SIA can offer assistance if required for schools experiencing difficulty sourcing scrap metal. Other design criteria are also required to be applied to the sculpture project (see below). Multiple entries are permitted from the same class or school. The Advisory Panel requires members from a diverse range of backgrounds, knowledge and experiences in Technologies.
