Sculpture of the Year Awards for High School Students 2010/2011
The Sheetmetal Industry Association (SIA) has announced the opening of the Sculpture of the Year Awards for High School Students 2010/ 2011. Students participating in this competition are required to produce a predominately metal construction sculpture containing some sheet metal. The SIA can offer assistance if required for schools experiencing difficulty sourcing scrap metal. Other design criteria are also required to be applied to the sculpture project (see below). Multiple entries are permitted from the same class or school. Competition entries close on 13th May 2011.

Australian Curriculum: Information and Communication Technology and Design and Technology
ACARA are currently inviting Expressions of Interest for Advisory Panel Members for the Australian Curriculum: Technologies. The Advisory Panel requires members from a diverse range of backgrounds, knowledge and experiences in Technologies. In 2011 advisory panel work will focus on the shaping phase.
The Information and Communication Technology and Design and Technology (Technologies) learning area may include agriculture/primary industries, built environment, computing/digital technologies, design, engineering, food technology and nutrition, graphics, materials and product design (e.g. metals, textiles, timber).

There are 2 ways to subscribe to Curriculum K-12's RSS Feeds:
- Internet browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari
- click on the "Subscribe to this feed". It will establish a folder for feeds after the OK is given. The system will notify you that a new feed is in the folder on starting the browser.
- Through email: Microsoft Outlook 2007
- Have Outlook 2007 open.
- Click on the RSS link and copy the full URL from the address bar at the top of the RSS feed page.
- Go to Tools menu option in Microsoft Outlook , then click on 'Account settings'. Find 'RSS feeds' tab, click on the tab. Click on 'New...'. A dialogue box will open. Paste the copied URL into the space provided then click 'Add'.
