Technology KLA

Programming tools and templates

The process for programming is based on the assumptions that for the implementation of the Technology (Mandatory) syllabus to be successful in a school:

  • the team of technology teachers involved in the course need to have a shared understanding and an agreed approach to the course
  • the course plan and units of work for the course must be relevant, challenging and significant for the particular students at the school whilst being achievable within the staff expertise, facilities, timetabling and other resources of the school
  • planning must firstly address the allocation of syllabus requirements and the given aspects of the school situation including student needs and school requirements.

Design projects must follow a design process and meet syllabus requirements however the choice of teaching and learning activities and the nature of the design task provide the flexibility for schools to be responsive to student needs and school requirements.
